Law Enforcement Requests

How government and law enforcement agencies can contact Vughy for information requests.

Last updated:

Vughy cooperates with lawful requests from government and law enforcement agencies. This page explains how to submit a request, what to include, and how we handle emergencies. It is for official legal process only — not for sales, support, or media inquiries.

How to contact us

Send law enforcement and government information requests to legal@vughy.com. Use a clear subject line such as “Law Enforcement Request — [Agency] — [Matter reference]”.

If you cannot reach that mailbox, you may also use hello@vughy.com with the same subject line. Do not use the public marketing chat widget or agency support channels for legal process.

What to include

To review and respond efficiently, please include:

  • Requesting agency name, country or jurisdiction, and official letterhead or portal documentation where available.
  • Name, title, badge or employee ID, work email, and phone number for the requesting officer or counsel.
  • Legal authority for the request (for example subpoena, court order, warrant, or equivalent process under applicable law).
  • A clear description of the information sought and why it relates to an investigation or proceeding.
  • Identifiers that help us locate records (account email, phone, company name, approximate dates, IP addresses, transaction or case IDs).
  • Response deadline and preferred secure delivery method.

What we can and cannot provide

We evaluate each request under applicable law and our Privacy Policy. We may produce account registration details, billing metadata, IP or access logs we retain, and other records we control for Vughy-operated systems — when a valid legal process requires it.

Customer data held inside an agency’s Vughy workspace is typically controlled by that agency. In those cases we may be limited to directing process to the agency, or producing only what law and our agreements permit. We do not provide data we do not hold or that would require creating new analysis beyond our retained records.

Emergency / exigent circumstances

If there is an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, mark the subject line “EMERGENCY — Exigent Request” and include a brief factual statement of the emergency, the specific data needed, and why delay would increase the risk. Email legal@vughy.com immediately. We may disclose limited information consistent with applicable law before formal process is completed; we may still require follow-up legal process afterward.

Notice to users

Unless prohibited by law or a court order (or where notice would create a risk of harm or impede an investigation), we may notify affected account holders before disclosing their information. If your process includes a non-disclosure or delayed-notice order, attach it with the request.

Preservation requests

If you need records preserved while process is prepared, email legal@vughy.com with “Preservation Request” in the subject line, the account or identifiers involved, and the time range. We will take reasonable steps to preserve available records for a limited period consistent with our policies and applicable law.

Response time

We aim to acknowledge valid requests promptly during business days. Complex or incomplete requests take longer. Emergency requests are prioritized. Sending incomplete documentation will delay review.

Not for the general public

Individuals seeking their own data should use the rights process in our Privacy Policy (hello@vughy.com). Sales, demos, and product support should use the Contact page — not this channel.
